The National Development Unit under the aegis of the ​Ministry of National Infrastructure and Community Development operates to contribute towards the enhancement of the quality of life through three main activities:

 

(i) Provision of community-based infrastructure and amenities;

(ii) Implementation of the Land Drainage Programme ; and 

(iii) Provision of information, advice and related services to empower citizens.

  

It has a network of 35 Citizens Advice Bureaus across the Island and one in Rodrigues, providing the right forum for citizens to interact with Citizens Advice Bureau Organisers, Regional Development Officers, and Parliamentary Private Secretaries. This Unit promotes a participatory and inclusive approach to development and gives voice to citizens.
